Hello there! We’re happy you’re interested to join us. We’re currently looking for a full time Data Engineer at Improve Digital.
At Improve Digital we face challenging infrastructure, complexity and scalability issues on a daily basis. Our real-time adserving platform satisfies billions of requests per day that results in PBs of Hadoop, Redshift and MySQL storage. We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our growing Engineering team, based in our Amsterdam HQ.
Just having large volumes of data isn’t an end in itself, we have to ensure that we have the systems in place that make the data available where and when it is needed and in the right format. We have established capabilities for batch data processing in Hadoop and stream processing in Kafka/Samza and the Data Engineering team own the ongoing development, extension and maintenance of these systems. We now seek to expand this team with an additional Data Engineer.
But you won’t just be locked away building data pipelines through Hadoop and Kafka, we will also ask you to build out business-focused capabilities atop these pieces of infrastructure.
The role will involve much autonomy and a varied set of projects; you may work on building a highly-reliable data ingest pipeline then move to automate data crunching in AWS before helping prototype some custom analytic transformations to be automatically pushed to client systems. The Engineering team is multi-disciplinary, and you will be working closely with Data Scientist, Data Engineer, Database Administrator and Software Development Engineer colleagues, so eagerness to learn, is essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to acquire skills and experience through hands-on development, research and conference attendance in a range of technologies and use this to have a real impact on the business.
